Frequently Asked Questions

What is Xeomin?

Xeomin® is an FDA-approved injectable treatment used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines (glabellar lines) between the eyebrows. It contains botulinum toxin type A—similar to Botox—but without accessory proteins, making it a "naked" neurotoxin.

How is Xeomin different from Botox or Dysport?

While all three are botulinum toxin treatments, Xeomin is formulated without additives. This means there’s less risk of developing resistance or antibodies over time. Some people also find it feels lighter or more natural.

What can Xeomin be used for?

Xeomin is most commonly used to treat:

  1. Frown lines between the eyebrows
  2. Forehead lines
  3. Crow’s feet
  4. Lip Flip

Is Xeomin safe?

Yes! Xeomin is FDA-approved and has been used safely in millions of treatments worldwide. As with any injection, minor side effects like redness, swelling, or bruising can occur, but serious side effects are rare.

What should I expect during the Xeomin treatment?

Treatments are quick—usually under 30 minutes. A few small injections are placed into the targeted muscles. Most patients describe it as a quick pinch and report little to no discomfort.

How long does it take to see results with Xeomin?

You may begin to notice smoothing of lines as early as 3–4 days after treatment, with full results in about 7–10 days.

Is there any downtime after Xeomin?

There’s little to no downtime. Most people go right back to their day after treatment. We just recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, lying down flat, or rubbing the treated area for at least 4 hours post-treatment.

What is SkinPen Microneedling?

SkinPen® is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device, designed to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and overall skin texture. It works by creating thousands of controlled micro-injuries that stimulate your skin’s natural healing process—boosting collagen and elastin.

What skin concerns can SkinPen treat?

SkinPen is effective for:

  1. Acne scars
  2. Fine lines and wrinkles
  3. Enlarged pores
  4. Uneven skin tone or texture
  5. Stretch marks
  6. Dull or aging skin

It’s safe for all skin types and tones.

What does microneedling feel like? Does it hurt?

Most patients describe the sensation as mild to moderate discomfort. We apply a topical numbing cream beforehand to maximize comfort during the treatment. You might feel a light vibration or tingling.

Is there any downtime after SkinPen microneedling?

There is minimal downtime. Expect mild redness, similar to a sunburn, for 24–48 hours. Most patients return to normal activities the next day. You’ll be given post-treatment skincare instructions to support healing.

How many microneedling treatments will I need?

Most patients see the best results with a series of 3–6 treatments, spaced about 4 weeks apart. Your provider will recommend a personalized plan based on your goals.
